LISFF is a Lisbon based international short film festival that focuses on narrative film. The festival aims to bring together and inspire short filmmakers from all around the world, as well as support original cinematographic approach and talented fimmakers.

Global technological changes have greatly and inevitably reshaped the face of cinema. The digital era has not only simplified the complicated technical process, but it also made it much cheaper and so, more available in terms of its production.

One of the targets of this festival is to create debates and to give a chance to short filmmakers to share their experiences as well as to discover new talents and create a sustainable network between filmmakers within the industry.

What a great excitement to welcome filmmakers from all around the world at this 1st edition of Lisboeta International Short Film Festival! At this uneasy times of struggle, worry and suffering, it demands a great effort to find a balance, to have a hope for peace, to have a courage to make art, to make films…

And what a great inspiration it is to see that no matter what, people continue making films, searching for new ways and forms to tell stories… How great it is to see that there are so many emerging filmmakers, so young and talented and daring to break the rules in order to find the new forms of expression…

We truly believe that short film is is still the purest form of film as a form of art, which definitely deserves a public attention not less than a future film. And as LISFF, we are dedicated to contribute to the development and promotion of short film the best way possible.
